WEXCO BIMETALLIC BARRELS

Zeiger Industries is proud to be a supplier of WEXCO® bimetallic barrels, a brand known throughout the industry for high performance and durability.

When you are relying on a supplier to provide a key component or critical service for your business, you want to ensure that the supplier is capable of consistently taking care of your needs with the utmost efficiency and dependability.  Since 1975, WEXCO has gained an enviable worldwide reputation for superior product quality, fast deliveries, and unparalleled customer service.  Zeiger is proud to work with WEXCO to offer our customers the best there is available.

Zeiger offer several WEXCO options including:

WEXCO® 555    Cobolt-nickel base alloy with high chromium and boron content for excellent corrosion resistance against hydrochloric and other acids.  Dual-phase microstructure with complex borides provide excellent wear resistance - over 10 times the service life of nitrided barrels in corrosive atmospheres!  Typical hardness range of Rockwell C50-55.  Recommended for use where severe corrosive conditions are encountered.

WEXCO® 666    Nickel-boron base iron with a high hardness, martensitic structure in cementite matrix.  Excellent abrasion resistance with a low friction coefficiency (0.07) for prevention of galling.  Provides a service of at least 4 times that of nitrided barrels, and a hardness range of Rockwell C58-65 (at 70oF).  Recommended for use when abrasive materials are being processed.

WEXCO® 777    High tungsten-carbide content alloy with a matrix of a chromium-boron-nickel alloy.  Tungsten carbide provides the primary wear resistance with the high chromium boride content matrix alloy providing additional wear and corrosion resistance.  Macro hardness of Rockwell C62-68.  However, over 80% volume of this alloy is occupied by tungsten carbides and chromium borides, which show a micro hardness of over DPH 4000 (over Rc70).  It is the highest wear and corrosion resistant alloy available for bimetallic cylinders.  Recommended for use where extremely abrasive and moderately corrosive conditions are encountered.  Also recommended for use in custom shops where a machine is used to process several different types of materials.

WEXCO® B0-22    Nickel rich boron base alloy which contains 12% molybdenum and a matrix rich in complex borides and carbides.  These elements cause it to maintain its highest temperatures hardness.  It has a typical hardness of Rockwell C50 or above (at 70oF).  WEXCO® B0-22 bimetallic cylinders are available as a HIPed product with no iron or porosity.  Molybdenum and its alloy elements are far superior in corrosion resistance against halogen containing elements, which reduces acid attack when compared with conventional nickel-cobalt base alloy (i.e. WEXCO® 555 and the like).  Ideal for processing Fluoropolymers and Polyvinyl Chloride resins under severly corrosive conditions.

WEXCO® Durocast™    Available for injection molding and extrusion applications, and recommended for the toughest and most demanding applications, WEXCO® Durocast™ bimetallic lined barrels offer the highest degree of wear and corrosion resistance available today.  WEXCO® Durocast™ bimetallic lined barrels carry a Five-Year Limited Warranty against excessive wear from the date sold.  Under this superior warranty, WEXCO guarantees that Durocast™ cylinders will not wear more than 0.010 inches total on the bore diameter!
